Beyond Borders: Oaxaca-Seattle Print Exchange
January 6 through January 29, 2020
Reception: Wednesday, January 8, 5-7 PM
This collective exhibit is an exchange between Oaxaca and Seattle printmakers. Since the 1990s, artists from Seattle and Oaxaca have traveled back and forth to share and learn traditional printmaking techniques including relief, intaglio and lithography. The exhibition celebrates this relationship and reinforces this historically strong bond, comparing and contrasting the similarities and differences in cultures, printmaking techniques and visions of the world and strengthens the bridge of visual communication between these two distant cities.
